Fun Activities for Home Base Group
Posted 04/27/23Brooke County, WV - Miss Krissy, parent educator, shares that the month of April was filled with many fun activities for her home base group (under age 3). They practiced using their gross motor skills by throwing a ball at a pyramid of plastic cups. The children had a blast attempting to knock down as many cups as possible. They may be little, but they sure do have a good arm! We also had fun painting with cars and trucks. As the children rolled the tire tracks on paper, we discussed the differences in the vehicle’s tracks and enjoyed mixing the colors. We finished off our month of activities by learning about fruits and vegetables. The children unwrapped each fruit and vegetable from the foil and matched them to the correct picture. Miss Krissy shared that she may have gone a little overboard on the foil for some, so they had to work hard using their hands and fingers to reveal what was inside. We finished by making a cute strawberry hand print craft to keep with the theme.
