Announcement of New Executive Director

“Starting on June 8, Stephanie Skadra will be the Executive Director for Northern Panhandle Head Start. She has a large job to do when she arrives, but based on my interactions with her I am confident that she will rise to the challenge and be a wonderful addition to our organization,” shares Amanda Dent, Human Resources Manager.

Hello Northern Panhandle Head Start community,

I am honored and truly excited to join Northern Panhandle Head Start as your new Executive Director in June. I bring more than 19 years of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement, all of which have been grounded in my time at Wheeling Country Day School. During my tenure there, I have served as an early childhood educator, Playgroups Coordinator, Director of Enrollment & Tuition Assistance, and a member of the school’s leadership team for close to a decade. Throughout my career, I have focused on building strong teams, supporting staff, and aligning day-to-day work with a clear, mission-driven vision. I believe strong relationships are at the heart of great work, and I value open communication, collaboration, and creating a culture where people feel supported, heard, and empowered.

My leadership approach is both relational and data-informed. I care deeply about people, and I also believe in thoughtful systems, clear planning, and strong fiscal responsibility to ensure we continue delivering high-quality services. I’m looking forward to listening, learning, and working alongside you as we build on the strong foundation already in place at NPHS. It’s an honor to be part of this organization, and I’m excited for the work we will do together to support children and families across our community.

Sincerely,

Stephanie Skadra
